The Azalea Garden Club met on Tuesday, March 16 for their regular monthly meeting. Members were greeted by hostesses for the evening, Alma Abbott and Betty Moats, who served delicious refreshments in keeping with the St. Patrick's Day theme.
David Ridgeway, Jr. or Ridgeway Christmas Christmas Tree Farm presented an informative program on "Composting;" he encouraged everyone to try it by beginning on a small scale and working toward individual needs.
Mr. Ridgeway also displayed different composting bins to aid in the processing, and he entertained a "question and answer session" that inspired many of the members to try some of the procedures he offered. Azalea Garden Club members are constantly exploring better ways of disposing of litter and "going green" in their everyday tasks.
Katie Kilby identified the many spring specimens that were displayed. Plans were discussed to participate in the County Yard Sale on May 1.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 20. Anyone interested, please contact Dottie McMichael at 770-775-7936 or come to the Exchange Club Building at 7 p.m.
