Butts County Council for the Fine Arts President, Cheryl Hilderbrand, has received a grant from Grassroots Arts Program to promote the arts in Butts County. Come learn from the professionals at a series of three all-day workshops which will be presented at Generations Gallery in The Village at Indian Springs in April and May. Local Arts Council Member, Scott Coleman, will present a Drawing Workshop at Generations Gallery in The Village at Indian Springs on Saturday, April 17 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The all-day intensive program is designed to develop the skill of emerging artists in the county. " Drawing is basic to all other forms of artwork. It is essential to know, no matter what other creative disciplines you decide to develop." $20.
Pastel Artist, Preston King, "Working with pastels is all about layering color," explains Preston. Beginners and advanced artists will be shown the techniques of applying the soft pastels in a Pastel Workshop at Generations Gallery in The Village at Indian Springs on Saturday, May 8 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. " We cover a lot of theory of color. It is a good refresher course for all artists." $20.
Want to take better pictures? Bring your digital camera and several of your best prints to the Photo Workshop held on Saturday, May 22 at Generations Gallery from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. in The Village at Indian Springs. Kathy Socha, design professional and advisor to the juried fine art photography exhibitions, slowexposures, will answer your questions about your camera's functions, and discuss the art of composition, depth of field, and lighting. Weather permitting, we will shoot in the many gardens in The Village in the afternoon. $20.
