Clayton News Daily
Mike Davis was named editor of the Jackson Progress-Argus last Thursday. Davis replaces Stewart Voegtlin who served as editor from 2006 until present.
Davis began his career in journalism with the Henry Daily Herald in 2003, where he interned, was hired as a reporter, and eventually served as city editor until 2007. Davis worked in Clayton County as the News Daily's assistant managing editor from 2009 to present.
"I'm thoroughly excited about the opportunity to come to the Jackson Progress-Argus and be a part of a great team of people at a great newspaper," Davis said. "Butts County is a vibrant community with a lot of stories to tell and I look forward to helping to tell those stories."
"Mike brings a lot of valuable experience to the position and he's going to be a great fit," Voegtlin said. "Butts County is in extremely capable hands."
