Police are searching for a suspect, who they believe committed armed robberies at two Waffle House restaurants. Henry County Police said the individual robbed one of the restaurant chain's locations in Henry County on Thursday, then committed a similar crime shortly thereafter in Clayton County.
The first incident occurred at approximately 1:10 a.m., inside the Waffle House, located at 611 Ga. Highway 138 West in Stockbridge, according to Henry Police Capt. Jason Bolton.
"A black male wearing dark clothing and a white bandana walked into the Waffle House, brandished a pistol and demanded money," Bolton said.
"The suspect fled in a dark-colored vehicle, with an undisclosed amount of money," he said. "Less than an hour later, another Waffle House robbery occurred, in Clayton County, with the suspect matching the description in the Stockbridge robbery."
Clayton County Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Waffle House at 5150 Ga. Highway 85, just north of Riverdale. Clayton Officer India Smith told the Clayton News Daily a gunman entered the restaurant at approximately 2 a.m., on the same day as the Stockbridge incident, and demanded money from the register.
Smith added that canine units, which were dispatched to the scene following the Clayton County robbery, found $26 scattered around the restaurant. The money, according to the officer, was returned to the Waffle House.
Anyone with information on the suspect's identity or whereabouts, is asked to contact the Henry County Police Department at (770) 288-8200, or Clayton County Police at (770) 473-5400.
