Morrow's Wayman Storey and Union Grove's Jordan Moore each brought home individual track and field titles Saturday in the Class AAAAA division of the GHSA state meet in Jefferson.
Storey captured the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.265, while Moore brought home his first-place medal with a winning time of 14.161.
The Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers narrowly missed a team title at the Class A track meet, finishing in second place with 56 points, just12 points behind Pelham, Saturday in Jefferson.
Riding a wave of momentum on the final day of the meet after Luke Baker won a state title on Friday in the 3200, the Chargers scored points in several of Saturday's running events.
Darrien Hudson was sixth (11.194) and Dylan Elder eighth in the 100-meter dash (11.22).
The two also scored points for ELCA in the 200-meter dash after Elder was third (22.52) and Hudson was sixth (22.90).
Seth Moore turned in a fifth place performance in the 400-meter dash (50.76).
ELCA's relay team of Manny Mitchell, Elder, Hudson, Keyante Green, Christian Reeves and Moore was fourth in the 400-meter relay (43.41), and the 1600-meter relay team of Tal Covington, Elder, Moore, Hudson and Bake was fifth (3:31.70).
Other local placers in Saturday's running finals included Darnell Brown (51.39), who was seventh in the 400-meter dash.
In Class AAA, Drew's Timothy Barnes was (11.21) in the 100-meter dash.
In the Class AAAA, Steve Palmer (48.01) was third in the 400-meter dash and Jonesboro's Taurean Ferguson (40.19) was seventh in the 300-meter. Stockbridge Aaron Coleman (2:30.11) was eighth in the 800-meter run.
Storey added to his state title in the 20-meter dash by finishing third in the Class AAAAA 100-meter dash.
Riverdale's DeAndre McBride (22:03) was fourth in the 200-meters.
In the 400-meters, two runners from Clayton County placed for their teams as Ayrian Evans (49.485) was sixth and Tony Warren (50.63) was eighth.
Morrow finished 10th in the Class AAAAA team standings and Riverdale 11th.
