Sketo, J L Age: 79
Passed Away: 2010-11-02 Funeral Home: Mt. Olive Assembly of God, Westville, Fla. J L Sketo J L Sketo, of Westville, Fla. passed away Nov. 2, 2010, at the age of 79, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born June 2, 1931, in Chipley, Fla. J L was a longtime residence of Forest Park and Buckhead (Lake Oconee) Ga. He retired from GMAD Lakewood in 1990, after 33 years of employment. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Sue Slay Sketo; children, Cynthia (Gary) Johnson, of Marietta, Larry (Kimberly) Sketo, of Mableton, and Catherine (Greg) Bartlett, of Locust Grove; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Sara Apostalo, of Port O’Connor, Texas; and Edna Mae Payne, of Hickory, N.C. Memorial services will be held at Mt. Olive Assembly of God, Westville, Fla., on Friday, Nov. 5, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Covenant Hospice, 4440 Lafayette Street, Suite C, Marianna, Fla. 32446, (850) 482-8520.More like this story
