Clayton Schools to offer resume writing class

Clayton County Public Schools will offer a free class for the community, entitled "Resume Writing," on Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the S. Truett Cathy Professional Learning Center, at 1087 Battle Creek Road, in Jonesboro. Call (770) 473-2795.

Clayton County Public Schools' Middle School All-County Band, Chorus and Orchestra will perform a free concert on Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 7 p.m., to 8 p.m., at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center, which is located at 2530 Mt. The Clayton County Board of Education will hold its November work session on Monday, Nov. 15, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Clayton County Public Schools Central Administration Complex, at 1058 Fifth Ave., in Jonesboro.

The Clayton County Board of Education is asking county residents to donate non-perishable food items between now and Nov. 15, to feed needy families of students in the school system. The food can be dropped off at the Clayton County Public Schools Central Administration Complex, which is located at 1058 Fifth Ave., in Jonesboro. For more information, call (770) 473-2966.

The Clayton County Public Library System offers many services to students, including tutoring programs for those who speak either English or Spanish, and online practice tests and electronic test-preparation books for the SAT, GED, ASVAB, and TOEFFL exams. The Everett Music School is offering a Music After School Program for local children, at the school's new location at the Emmanuel Baptist Church Campus, at 230 Ga. Hwy. 138, Bldg. B, in Riverdale. Through the program, youths receive homework assistance, Criterion-Reference Competency Test (CRCT) preparation, math and reading enrichment, and music lessons for piano, drums, singing and music theory.
