A new play, looking at religion through a modern perspective, is set to open at a Riverdale Elementary School next weekend.
The College Park-based service organization, KreAtiv Inergy & Associates, Inc., is producing a play, "God's Child," which will be performed at Church Street Elementary School, at 7013 Church St., in Riverdale.
The play opens on Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m., and subsequent performances will take place on Nov. 13, 19, and 20, at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 14, and 21, at 3 p.m.
The play is set in modern-day Atlanta, and looks at the rise, fall and redemption of "one of God's chosen" people.
"It's a play about real people with real problems, trying to make it from day to day, week to week, full of faults and foibles, each trying to live out their destiny within the pattern of their being," said Mark-Anthony Hines, the play's writer and director, in a written statement.
Tickets are $10, and can be purchased calling (770) 235-0392, or at the Before and After Beauty Salon, which is located at 6470 Buffington Road, in Union City.
