Audrey Boozer Cothran, 94, of Jenkinsburg Road, of Griffin, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at Westbury Medical Care Home, in Jackson. She was born in Gwinnett County, Ga. on March 7, 1916. Mrs. Cothran lived most of her life in Atlanta, and in 1981 retired with her husband, Felix, to his home town of Martin, Ga. After his passing, Audrey moved to Griffin to be near family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix D. Cothran; sister, Gertrude Mooneyham, and brothers, Henry Boozer and Clarence Boozer. Survivors include her children, Clifford Cothran and (Ann), of Jenkinsburg; and Jeraldine Burson and (Buddy), of Griffin; grandchildren, David Burson and (Glenda), Susan Jordan and (Stacy), Ken Cothran and (Angie), Connie Sims, Kevin Cothran and (Molly), 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy McMichen, of Lawrenceville; brother, Goldee Boozer, of Austell, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Watermark Church, Jenkinsburg, Ga. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist of Atlanta, where she was a Bible teacher and Ladies Auxiliary President, and of Pleasant Hill Baptist, Martin, Ga., where she was a Bible teacher and Sunshine Club (Senior Group) President. Audrey was a homemaker, and known for her special recipe for coconut cake, and for peanut brittle, which she prepared every Christmas, as gifts for family and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., at Horis A. Ward-Fairview Chapel, Stockbridge, Ga., with the Rev. Bill Carroll, and the Rev. Jack Pickel officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Martin, Ga., at 3 p.m.. Friends may visit the family Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 4 p.m., to 8 p. m., at the funeral home.
