The pageant is hosted by Riverdale High School, but any female student, at any high school in the county, is invited to sign up as a contestant, according to the pageant application. Applications can be found on the school's web site.

The application includes an essay on who helped to shape the applicant's values.

Awards will be given out during the pageant, in the categories of most talented, best gown, most congenial, highest grade-point average, people's choice, and community spirit.

The overall pageant queen will receive a $500 savings bond, according to the pageant application. The pageant will be held on Jan. 23, 2011, beginning at 5 p.m., at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center, located at 2530 Mt. Zion Pkwy., in Jonesboro.
