Riverdale teen reported missing

Clayton County Police were searching Monday for a Riverdale teen, reported missing since last week.

Whitney Kittrell, 15, was last seen a week ago, Monday, at Riverdale's Drew High School, according to a Clayton County missing person's report. She was being dropped off her grandmother.

Clayton County police spokesman, Officer Otis Willis, said Kittrell's grandmother escorted her granddaughter to school at 7:35 a.m. The school is located at 6237 Garden Walk Boulevard.

"School officials notified the grandmother that Whitney did not report to school," said Willis. He added that the grandmother found a letter in Kittrell's room, which said that the teen was going to Florida.

According to a Clayton County missing person's report, police were later informed, Kittrell's grandmother, that Kittrell may be with an Hispanic male named "Alphonso." The report states that his last name was unknown.

Willis described Kittrell as a white female, 5-feet, six inches tall, and weighing 150 pounds. He said she was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and tan pants.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Whitney Kittrell to call Detective John Freeman at (770) 477-3624.
