Autumn is a 4 year old calico domestic shorthair. She has been spayed and fully vaccinated. Autumn was found by a CCHS supporter, living as a stray, and very obviously pregnant. With no available space at the shelter, our supporter agreed to offer the little mom food and shelter until CCHS could take her and her babies. Autumn had her babies, but only one was delivered back to the supporter's home. (That one little baby was "Charlie", who is now 3 years old and still lives at the CCHS shelter! Poor Charlie has never known a real home! ) Once at the shelter, it soon became obvious that Autumn was afraid to be in "general population" with all the other cats roaming free at the shelter. Autumn had to be caged, and she has remained caged all these years. She now has a cage mate, Celine, who she does fine we know she can get along with other cats, just not so many at one time. Autumn is a very sweet girl, who deserves so much better than life in a cage. For adoption information, please call Robin at 770/478-7531. Special adoptions for Christmas

CCHS would like to announce our plans for a "Cage-Free Cats Christmas". Due to fears of other cats, or physical disabilities, there are currently 9 cats who have to live within the confines of small cages, day and night, 7 days a week. This is no way for any animal to have to live, and from November until Christmas, a special adoption fee will be in place for any approved adoption of any of our caged cats. We also have many "veteran" cats who have been with CCHS for a very long period of time, and we would also like to see these cats in homes in time for Christmas! The special adoption fee will also apply to these cats who have been with CCHS for so many years. It is the mission of CCHS to make Christmas 2010 a very special holiday, for some very special residents of the CCHS shelter. Help us to make November and December the "turning point" for some very deserving cats.
