The City of Morrow Police Department, Monday, was investigating the death of a man, who was walking on Interstate 75 northbound Saturday.
The unidentified man was hit, Saturday night, by a tractor trailer going northbound on Interstate 75, near exit 233, which is the Highway 54/Jonesboro Road exit, according to Morrow police spokesman, Capt. James Callaway.
"We don't know how he got there," said Callaway.
On Monday, police were in the process of identifying the man who had no identification on him, said Callaway.
He added that the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m.
"We are interviewing several witnesses," Callaway said.
According to Callaway, the man was walking along the side of the highway, and "ended up in the path of the tractor trailer."
"The truck driver was not injured and was not cited," Callaway explained.
"The interstate was shut down for several hours," he added.
Callaway said there was one lane open going northbound, while authorities cleared the scene, and all the lanes, on the highway were reopened by 2 a.m.
