All-Games start at 7:30 p.m.
George Walton (10-1) at ELCA (11-0)
Series: George Walton leads 4-0.
Storylines: The Eagle's Landing Christian Chargers and the George Walton Bulldogs have played four times before. All the previous meetings were when the two teams still played in the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA). Eagle's Landing Christian left GISA for the Georgia High School Association in 2003, and has made the playoffs every year in GHSA. George Walton is in its first year of competition in the GHSA. The Bulldogs left GISA after winning the Class AAA title last season.
ELCA won the Region 5-A title this year with a wealth of offense.'
Four running backs have accounted for 2,599 yards. Keyante Green has 959 yards, John Tatum 827 yards, Avery Walls 415, and Alex Williams 398. The Chargers' defense has added four shutouts. At one stretch of the season, opponents didn't score on the Chargers for three-straight weeks. George Walton is riding a five-game winning streak.
Prediction: ELCA 35, George Walton 14
Glynn Academy (8-3) at Dutchtown (10-1)
Series: First meeting
Storylines: The Dutchtown Bulldogs have made lots of history this year, putting together the best season in school history. A week ago in the Bulldogs' first trip to the playoffs ever, they made a huge statement with a victory against long-time state power Thomas County Central. Senior kicker Ryan Kay booted five field goals for all of Dutchtown's points, including a 56-yard field goal en route to the win.
The Bulldogs' only loss this year was a 10-6 decision to Griffin.
Both Glynn Academy and Dutchtown are nearly carbon copies of each other with strong running games. Glynn Academy beat Lovejoy 7-6 when the Wildcats failed to convert an extra point.
The Terrors have won a state title, but that was 46 years ago, all the way back in 1964. Dutchtown head coach Jason Galt appears to have the Bulldogs headed in the right direction. In his fourth season, Galt is 24-17 with back-to-back winning seasons. A year ago, the Bulldogs went 7-3 and just missed the playoffs.
Prediction: Dutchtown 17, Glynn Academy 10
