Advance voting begins Monday for the mid-term, run-off elections, which include two state judicial seats up for grabs.
Voters are being asked to decide the next Georgia Supreme Court Justice, in the race between sitting justice, David Nahmias, and challenger, Tammy Lynn Adkins.
In another judicial contest, Antoinette Davis is pitted against Chris McFadden in the runoff for a State Court of Appeals seat.
The Clayton County Board of Elections and Registration plans to open its main office for advance voting, Monday through Wednesday, from 8 a.m., until 7 p.m. The main office is located at 121 S. McDonough St., in Jonesboro.
Henry County Board of Elections and Registration officials have decided to open two satellite voting precincts for advance voting, including the elections and registration main office, at 345 Phillips Drive, in McDonough, and the Hampton Depot, at 17 East Main St., in Hampton.
Polling times for advance voting in Henry will be between 8 a.m., and 6 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, according to Frances Jackson, assistant director of Henry County Elections and Registration.
The run-off election day will be Tuesday, Nov. 30. All 38 precincts in Henry County, and all 58 precincts in Clayton County, will be open that day, between 7 a.m., and 7 p.m., according to elections officials. Polls in both counties will be closed Monday, Nov. 29.
There are some Henry County voters, in the county's second district, who will be asked to cast an additional vote to help decide the next District II County Commissioner in the run-off election, added Jackson.
The elections official noted the run-off race is between candidates, Fred Auletta and Herman E. Talmadge, III. The two are vying for the seat formerly held by Rick Jeffares, who resigned the post to run for the State Senate District 17 seat.
Jackson reminds voters to bring proper identification along with them when they vote.
