Clayton Schools seeking public input for textbooks

Clayton County Public Schools officials recently announced that they would like members of the community to review, and offer comments on, possible fine arts textbooks over the next three weeks.

The district's Fine Arts Department is currently going through the textbook-adoption process for upcoming school years.

The district has announced that several samples of fine arts textbooks, being considered for use in the school system, will be on display from Nov. 29, to Dec. 17, at the headquarters branch of the Clayton County Library System, which is located at 865 Battle Creek Road, in Jonesboro.

"The public is invited to examine these textbooks, and submit comments on the forms provided at the library," said district spokesman, Charles White, in a written statement.

For more information on the textbook-adoption process, call Kay Sledge, the school system's director of fine arts, accreditation and strategic planning, at (770) 473-2875.
