Clayton State University's Department of Visual and Performing Arts has announced its Clayton Community Big Band will celebrate 10 years of music with a free jazz concert on Monday, at 7:30 p.m., in Spivey Hall.
The concert, entitled "Our First Decade: A Musical Celebration," is being done to commemorate the 10th birthday of the band, according to the university. Officials at the school have said the concert, which is on the university's main campus in Morrow, will include musical selections the band performed at different times during its first decade. The band is composed of 20 musicians, many of whom are from Clayton and Henry counties. It also includes Clayton State students, and musicians from the local community.
