Mr. Charles “Chuck” Barnes, 83, of Stockbridge, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2010. He was born in Chicago, Ill., to the late Joe and Margaret (Beck) Barnes. Mr. Barnes was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a recipient of the Purple Heart, and a member of Flippen Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Barnes, of Stockbridge; children, Chuck, Jr., (Claire) Barnes, of McDonough, Robert (Cheryl) Barnes, of Valpo, Ind., Dan (Laura) Barnes, of Harrisonburg, Va., David (Kim) Barnes, of Crown Point, Ind., Larry Barnes, of Crown Point, Ind., Ken (Jennifer) Barnes, of Crown Point, Ind., Tim (Marty) Barnes, of Austin, Texas, Tim (Vicki) Melton, of Jackson, Ga., Mark Melton, of Stockbridge, Tracy (Keith) Morgan, of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Ashley Barnes, Alec Barnes, Alyssa Barnes, Katelyn Barnes, Dakota Barnes, Allison Barnes, Madeline Barnes, Jacob Barnes, Casey Barnes, Blake Morgan, Kayle Morgan, Zack Morgan and Mollie Summers; sisters, Dolores Love and Helen Loncaric, both of Northwest Indiana. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m., in The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Tim Emmett and the Rev. Gary DeMore officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends TODAY (Thursday, Dec. 2), from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
