Murder suspect caught by Sheriff's Office, FBI

Clayton County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Investigators assisted the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with the arrest of a 27-year-old man, who was wanted for murder in California.

According to Clayton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, Deputy Alicia Parkes, Chico Luis Angel Perez, was arrested in a joint effort the FBI and the Sheriff's Office, on Thursday, Nov. 18, at approximately 9:14 p.m., in Jonesboro.

"In a joint effort, a perimeter was set up, contact was made with a female at the door, and the suspect was apprehended without incident," said Parkes.

The suspect was apprehended at 7878 North Main Street, an apartment complex, in Jonesboro.

"A Smith and Wesson, .40 caliber pistol was recovered," Parkes said.

Perez has been charged as a "Fugitive Not of Georgia," according to Parkes.

He was still awaiting pickup from the Los Angeles Police Department, on Monday, according to Clayton County Jail officials.
