Pair sought in Dollar General armed robbery

Two unidentified men are being sought in the robbery of a Locust Grove store at gunpoint. One of the culprits allegedly punched an employee of the business in the face, before leaving the scene, according to Henry County Police.

The incident occurred Monday, around 8:45 p.m., at the Dollar General at 3230 Ga. Highway 155, said Police Maj. Jason Bolton.

"Two black males entered the Dollar General ... and robbed the clerk of an undisclosed amount of money," Bolton said. "Both males were armed with handguns. One suspect punched the clerk in the face during the course of the robbery."

Police have obtained video-surveillance footage from the store, as well as several still-frame photographs of the suspects. "There was another employee, a female [in the store during the armed robbery]," said Bolton.

The major described each of the suspects as being around 6 feet tall. One of them, Bolton continued, was wearing a blue T-shirt, khaki pants, white shoes and a camouflage hat. "The second suspect [was] wearing a blue sweatshirt, khaki pants, black shoes, and a blue hat," he added.

Dollar General Store Manager Susan Marette did not comment on the armed robbery, but referred inquiries to the company's Media Relations Department. No no return calls were received from corporate representatives for the retail chain on Friday.
