Clayton State University's University Bookstore will be shedding the school's colors, orange and blue, in favor of another color — green — next month, school officials announced on Monday.
But, alumni of the university do not need to worry. It is only a one-day deal, and it is designed to help promote literacy, according to a statement from the school. The bookstore is scheduled to hold a "Go Green Day" Book Drive, on Nov. 11, from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m. The bookstore is located in a lower level of the Clayton State Student Center, which is on the university's main campus, in Morrow. All types of books will be accepted, according to a university news release. During the book drive, people can drop off books that will be donated to Better World Books, an online book seller that raises money for literacy initiatives around the world through the sale of donated books. According to the company's web site, www.betterworldbooks.com, it has, so far, raised approximately $7.5 million for literacy initiatives, through the sale of more than 35 million books.
