Jonesboro Police have arrested three suspects for the alleged sale of methamphetamine to an undercover officer.
Forest Park residents, Juan Mendoza Gonzales, 39, Juan Jose Torres, 36, and Mario Cesar Sargmorales, 23, of Riverdale, were charged with possession of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, according to a statement issued the Jonesboro Police Department. The arrests took place on Tuesday. The individuals attempted to sell approximately three-quarters of an ounce of methamphetamine to an undercover officer, according to Jonesboro Police Lt. Wayne Woods. Woods said the suspects were arrested at 8564 Tara Boulevard, in the plaza's parking lot. "They were arrested and taken into custody to the Clayton County Jail," said Woods. Officials were watching the suspects for about two and a half hours, added Woods. Suspects, Torres and Sargmorales, have bonds set at $15,000 each. They are represented Public Defender Christine Van Dross, according to court records. Van Dross was unavailable for comment, on Thursday. Records state that preliminary hearings for Torres and Sargmorales will take place on Oct. 21. Online court records for Gonzales were not available on Thursday. All three suspects remained in jail Thursday, according to Clayton County Jail officials.More like this story
