Clayton County police are searching for a 17-year-old girl, who has been missing since Oct. 16.

Police said that Monica Ambriz went on a lunch break, while on her job, at El Progresso #7, located at 6463 Tara Boulevard, in Jonesboro, and did not return. According to Officer Otis Willis, a Clayton County police public information officer, Ambriz sent a text to her sister and "used correct grammar, which is not common for her."

"She normally uses abbreviations or acronyms."

"The vehicle she was traveling in was recovered. However, she has not been seen nor heard from," Willis added.

Ambriz's cell phone was found in the vehicle, according to a Clayton County Police missing person's report.

"Two witnesses state they saw her at the El Jungla restaurant on Metropolitan [Parkway] in Atlanta later that night [Oct 16]," the report states. Ambriz is also reportedly known to frequent the NOA NOA club in Gwinnett County.

"She possibly has a fake Texas ID in the name of Monica Sandoval," the missing person's report states.

Officer Willis said that the last time the teen was seen, she was wearing blue jeans, a red shirt, white belt, and black shoes. Ambriz is approximately 5'5, 148 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact Detective Chris Helton at (770) 477-3781.
