Mt. Zion beats Morrow

Mount Zion snapped a two-game losing streak with a 40-12 win over Morrow Thursday night at Tara Stadium.

Bulldogs sophomore safety Emmanuel Parks had an interception for a touchdown while wide receiver Ryan Johnson scored on a 40-yard touchdown reception.

Running back Josh King also had a touchdown for the Bulldogs, who are now 6-2 overall and in Region 4-AAAA to remain in fourth place in the region standings.

The Bulldogs had lost consecutive games to region leader Lovejoy and North Clayton the last two weeks. This was the second game that Mount Zion played without all-state candidate Quartterrio Morgan, who sustained a hand and leg injury against Lovejoy on Oct. 8.

Mount Zion host Banneker next week at Twelve Oaks stadium.
