Clayton County District 2 Commissioner Gail Hambrick will host a meet-and-greet gathering, Thursday, on behalf of newly installed Clayton County Police Chief Gregory Porter.
"I am hosting the meet-and-greet for the county's new police chief so that the constituents in District 2 will have an opportunity to offer their congratulations and dialogue one-on-one with Chief Porter regarding any public safety issues that they may have concerning Clayton County," said Hambrick.
The reception will take place, on Thursday, from 6:30 p.m., until 8 p.m., at the Frank Bailey Senior Center, located at 6218 Riverdale Road, in Riverdale.
The event is open to District 2 citizens and business owners, said Hambrick.
"... Chief Porter has been active in the community over the years, while serving on the police force, and I feel it's important for everyone to see that he still remains very much connected to the community even in his new role as police chief," she added.
According to a news release issued by the Clayton County Board of Commissioners, Porter's law enforcement career spans more than two decades, and during that time he has maintained very close ties with the community, which played an important role in the Board of Commissioners selecting him as the new police chief.
For more information about the reception, contact the Board of Commissioners office, at (770) 473-5751.
