Bates, Belva Age: 87
Passed Away: 2010-10-31 Funeral Home: Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel Belva Bates, 87, of Stockbridge, passed away Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010. Mrs. Bates was born in Pawnee City, Neb., to the late George and Ellen Scott. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, John M. Bates, in 2001. Mrs. Bates is survived by her son and daughter in-law, George and Angie Bates, of Stockbridge; grandsons, Dr. Christopher Bates, of Augusta, and Dr. Jeffrey Bates, of Ocala, Fla.; great-grandsons, Jon Michael Bates, and Matthew Bates; sister, Marilyn Brandt, of Lincoln, Neb. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 5, at Ward’s Fairview Chapel, with Pastor Jim Van Winkle officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Ga.
