North Clayton High School, in College Park, was locked down as a precaution, Wednesday, while police searched for a suspect, following a nearby shooting.
Police said a man was shot, on Wednesday morning, at the Jackson Landing Apartments, on Riverwalk Lane, in College Park.
According to Clayton County Police public information officer, Lt. Tina Daniel, the call came in to dispatchers at 11:17 a.m. Following the shooting, the victim was taken to Atlanta Medical Center. "There is no word on the victim's condition," Daniel said.
The school, located at 1525 Norman Drive, in College Park, did a "soft" lockdown, in which students are allowed to move around the inside of the building, but no one can come in or go out, said Charles White, a Clayton County Schools spokesman.
Daniel said the lockdown ended at 12:20 p.m.
Details regarding the circumstances of the shooting were unavailable, on Wednesday evening. Police were interviewing suspects, but there was no one in custody, Wednesday, in connection with the shooting, Daniel said.
