Former Mundy's Mill forward/center Taylor Britt signed a basketball scholarship with Brewton-Parker, which is a member of the NAIA. In helping the Lady Tigers compile a 21-7 record and reach the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs, the 5-foot-10 Britt averaged eight points and 10 rebounds. She is a three-year varsity player for the Lady Tigers. Brewton-Parker, which is located in Mount Vernon, competes in the Southern States Athletic Conference. "Every year she has really improved," Mundy's Mill coach Julius Omotayo said. "I'm very happy for her. I think she found a program and school were she feels very comfortable at." Five Eagle's Landing footballers sign Despite enduring an 0-10 season in 2010, six Eagle's Landing football players signed scholarships Wednesday. Three will play locally at Chattahoochee Tech, a two-year school in Marietta: running back Chasten Burns, and wide receivers Aldarien Bryant and Shaquille Lawrence. Defensive back Gabe Austin signed with LaGrange. Defensive tackle Shawn Hill signed with Reedley College in Reedley, Calif. Running back A.J. Hardy will play at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss. Bryant was a second team All-Region 4-AAA selection on offense this past season. Austin made the second team on defense.More like this story
