Good luck! The event is Saturday, April 9.

And what an event it promises to be, this year, the 18th year of the Taste of Clayton. The festivities are scheduled to get started at 11 a.m., and last at least until 3 p.m.

To add to the charm and atmosphere of the day, the event has been moved to Main Street in historic, downtown Jonesboro. It will include tent-covered, festive booths and entertainment, plus delicious samples from area restaurants.

You can also take part in the new sweet tea challenge, and sweet tea drinking contests, and still have time to peruse other attractions, visit local, community booths, and enjoy the all-day entertainment offerings.

Admission to the event will include "Taste" tickets that can be given to the vendors, in exchange for food or beverages. Adult admission is $15 and includes 10 Taste tickets. Senior-adult admission (55 and older) is $12, with 7 Taste tickets, and children's admission (10 and under) is $5, with 5 Taste tickets. Additional Taste tickets can be purchased for $1 each.

The event is hosted by the Clayton County Convention & Visitors Bureau, in partnership with Historical Jonesboro/Clayton County, Inc.

New this year, is the Sweet Tea Challenge. The person who can drink a gallon of tea the fastest, wins. Also, if you think you make the best sweet tea east of the Mississippi, then enter and let the judges decide. You could be right -- Your sweet tea might just be, as the youngsters say, "DA Bomb."

That means, "the absolute best -- bar none!"

Call the Clayton County Welcome Center, at (770) 478-4800, to find out where you can buy advanced tickets for the event. And don't forget the newspaper's Facebook contest. Those family packs of admission passes are worth their weight in gold, uh, sweet tea.
