The Clayton State University Bookstore is selling T-shirts commemorating the college's first-ever national sports championship.
Officials are hoping fans will continue to show their pride for the Lady Lakers' 35-1 season record, and victory over Michigan Tech. The team claimed the NCAA Division II national title March 25.
"This is the ultimate in college athletics," said college spokesman John Shiffert. "We're hoping people will want to be a part of something successful. This is a very big deal."
Shiffert said the team has put a national spotlight on Clayton State.
"The girls have been mentioned on ESPN, CBS and more than 90 times on Atlanta television," he said. "We couldn't buy that kind of coverage, even if we had the budget for it. There are more than 300 colleges playing Division II basketball, and we're the champions."
The blue-and-white shirts, in all sizes, went on sale Monday at the campus bookstore, and are $19.95. Pre-pay orders will be taken if sizes run out. The bookstore can be reached at (678) 466-4220.
