Phillip Cowan, age 75, of Grayson, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elon and A.G. Cowan, of Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Cowan; children, Tracey Brown, Jason and Jema Cowan; grandchildren, Adam Brown, Jake Brown, Max Cowan, Jackson Cowan; sister, Madelyn King, Linda Raney (Fred); brother, Larry Cowan; brothers-in-law, Roy Jenkins (Betty), Bill Beckum; and many nieces and nephews. Phil graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, and received his bachelors degree from the University of Georgia. He retired from CNA Insurance Co. A memorial service was held Saturday, April 2 at 12:30 p.m., at Grayson United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Phil Schroeder and the Rev. Scott Hearn officiating.
