* Fallen soldier honored in Southern Crescent

We not only ask God to bless our soldiers, but also their families who have lost their son, brother, nephew..Gold Bless the USA and those who protect her.

* Southern Crescent turns out for fallen soldier

My heart was filled as I watched the procession on Jonesboro Road. My thoughts and prayers with the family and friends and my graitude to be able to bear witness to this procession. A wondeful contribution our County, City and community was given.

* Southern Crescent turns out for fallen soldier

God Bless your son. In my eyes he is a true hero. I have two sons in the military and dread every deployment. But, they love our country just as your son did.

* Southern Crescent turns out for fallen soldier

May God keep His loving arms around this family. Thanks you for your sacrifice.

* 2 dead when tree falls on Jackson home

As a mother of a three year old myself, i am heartbroken. During this devasting time, one must draw closer to their faith. Only through the grace of God will someone cope with such great turmoil. My prayers are with the family and the other child.

* 2 dead when tree falls on Jackson home

God bess this family.I am aware the Red Cross is assisting, but what is being done to assist this family with burial expenses?

* Natural gas leak causes evacuation in Riverdale

lived in jonesboro all my life, but sad to say it's time to move out of this getto

* Clayton's interim fire chief made permanent

"Robbing Seniors?" Really? Do they think that the money for these senior centers just materializes out of thin air? Since when is providing free entertainment for seniors OR teens a legitimate function of government? Maybe County employees who are being furloughed should hold up signs at commission meetings that say "stop robbing employees." Or, better yet, the already overburdened ClayCo taxpayers should picket the monuments to current and former commissioners, better known as senior centers and rec centers, with signs that say "stop wasting our money."

* Clayton's interim fire chief made permanent

I am incredibly proud of my father. Not because he is now fire chief but, rather, because of the dedication I have seen him exhibit time and time again to the citizens of Clayton County. For my entire 27 years of life, my father has been a public servant, and those with family members in public service know the sacrifice this often entails. Dad has taught my brother and I, service can sometimes be painful, both physically and emotionally, but is always worth it. The scriptures teach us: "Greater love have no man than this, that he might lay down his life for others." Dad, in laying down your life, you continue to put Clayton County before yourself, while teaching others to do the same. As a family, we have unquestionably endured much, but it is an honor that the Board of Commissioners continues to recognize and place trust in those willing to sacrifice. For these reasons, I continue to be proud to call myself Hood. From a former and, perhaps, future resident of Clayton County...

* Arrest made in slaying at Econo Lodge

Gonna miss ya brother, worked with James many times,he was always laid back but full of energy, thanks for helping me get the job in New York City,be a long long time before I ever forget about ya brother...

What does Doug know about basketball in Indiana? Ha, Ha. Rick Curl.

* Women's sports are an important part of the landscape -Doug Gorman

What does an old Georgia boy know about things that happen in the midwest. Rick Curl

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

I know reporters aren't that interested in facts any more, but the qualifications for Sheriff clearly state that you must be a resident of the County in which you are running for two (2) years prior to qualifiying for office. By his own admission (in this article), Mr. Turner stated that he just moved to Clayton from Henry in the fall of this past year...do the math, he is not qualified to run for sheriff. Just putting it out there.

* Arrest made in slaying at Econo Lodge

I just found out this awfull news.Really sad.I remember when james came to work on the M/V sainte marie.I took a liking to him right away.He was a hard worker and good young man.My Prayers go out to him and his children and family. God take care of his soul

* Hinton, Pauline S.

Our prayers will be with the family. Pauline was dearly loved and she will be missed. We rejoyce knowing we will see her again because she was strong in her Faith. Our love to the family Jeff and Dee Dee "Elmore" Moats

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

I fully support Jeff Turner in his decision to run for Sheriff of Clayton Co. His experience and leadership is truely missed. We're moving forward and putting the past behind. Victor Hill should not be allowed in the county. He costed the citizens almost a billion dollars in lawsuits, which in turned cost the county higher insurance cost which is passed on to the citizens. His job was to run the jail and serve warrants first and foremost. He left the jail in turmoil and 20,000 warrants that had not been served. No more Victor Hill.

* Adamson, educators uneasy about money return

Our children graduated at the stadium...It was fine.

* Adamson, educators uneasy about money return

Also, cutting music education will hurt students. Music improves children's learning. Clayton County was once one of the best schools in the state for music education. Cut county office staff and salaries...

....More recycled mistakes in Clayton County, Georgia. ....Now: We arrived to ......Nil vs None vs Nothing

* Staff predictions for men's Final Four

You could have guessed that Paglia would pick the final game right and Mahone would miss it completely. Pretty much par for the course.

* Stockbridge boys' basketball coach Kelley resigns

Something must be going on over at SHS. Looks like a house cleaning to me. A whole lot of varsity coaching spots available. Coach Kelly did a great job on the court, but he also did great work in the classroom as well. I personally think he got the shaft. Best of luck to Coach Farrell and his family in the sunshine state. Lotsa memories for me from his squads.

* Mayo, Sr., Bobby Gene

Daddy I Love & Miss You...R.I.P. Love Alway's,Kathy

* Lifesaver program available in Henry

THANK YOU Henry County for saving Hannah and hopefully more people in similar situations. This is a Blsssing for this family and thank you Dale and Cara for pursing this option to keep your precious child safer. Thank you to area churches who feel Hannah is worth saving and protecting. I commend all those involved in getting this program off the ground. Kudo's to all involved.

* Former Stockbridge banker awaits trial

I hope they get his 'partners' as well....They think they will be fine because they 'live behind the gates'.

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

All I have to say is we need a Sheriff that will treat all Deputy's equal. Stop making all these special teams and do what the Sheriff Department is suppose to do (Serve Warrants and Court Papers.

* Deputy's son assaulted at school

After such a vicious attack on another student, the attacker should be expelled from all Henry County Schools. Our children should not be afraid to go to school. But for some reason our school boards are afraid to enforce a real zero tolerance policy. Rapist and other violent offenders have no right to co mingle with kids trying to get an education.

* Clayton Schools may 're-coup' Ed Jobs money

The actions of the CCBE have little, if anything to do with the fact home prices in Claytin County are dropping. Price levels have much more to do with the collapse of the housing market locally and nationally, but I doubt you will permit the facts to interfere with you making your point.

* Clayton Schools may 're-coup' Ed Jobs money

Would that be the "old guard" who managed the District to losing its accreditation and micromanaged the daily affairs in the District, often for their own benefit? While I don't necessarily support Dr Heatley's entire agenda, his leadership is effective and he offers a clear vision. Much of the "morale" issue you brought up has to do with the accountability Dr Heatley has put in place since joining the District. This is something which was not in existence under the "old guard" and the absence of which many teachers and administrators took advantage of.

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

Best wishes.....

* Clayton's transportation wish list extensive

Yes, we need a bus system so everyone can go to the store with their food stamps, stop by unembloyement, receive free medical care, etc. Oh, what a great way of life.

* Program provides family with new HVAC unit

You seem to know all the answers---who pays your salary?

* Program provides family with new HVAC unit

John: so tell me where does the money come from? If your're going to tell me it is from a federal or state grant--that is still the taxpayer's money.

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

victor hill don't have a chance but jeff turner would be a great sheriff for this county. we also need a new commissioner get bell out of office.

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

If I still lived in Clayton County....I would vote for Jeff Turner..

* Clayton Schools to fight gangs with 'Midnight Ball'

This is an awesome idea and I will be enrolling my family.

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

Thank GOD!!! Integrity, intelligence and a proven track record of positive performance. You will have my vote Jeff Turner.

* Program provides family with new HVAC unit

I looked it up John. The agency is funded by the Restoration Rehabilitation Grant (RRG) Program and the Housing Urgency Grant (HUG) Program (ie Taxmoney John) !!!!

* Program provides family with new HVAC unit

John they may not get local taxpayers money but they get it from our federal taxes. You are someone who probably works there or something like that so you just want to justify your existence. By the way John we never had air conditioner when I was growing up and no one passed out or died. Dont make excuses for this kind of thing its plain and simple that you seem to just want to justify it.

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

I have been waiting for the day that Jeff Turner will run for Clayton County Sheriff!!!!!! You will have my vote!!!!!!

* Henry County submits transportation 'wish list'

This wish list looks to be not $430 million but 3 times that much. Looks like Stockbridge is out of the loop! Plus, this SPLOST will never pass in Henry County.

* Turner to seek Clayton Sheriff's job

Jeff !, You we have been hoping that you would come back and make Clayton County safe again, Knowing that our bord of Commi are some of Atlantas rejects, and are only power hungry. Love to have you as Sheriff
