The Clayton County Chamber of Commerce will have its "April BASH (Business & Social Hour)," on Thursday, April 14, from 6, to 8 p.m., at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 6790 Highway 85, Riverdale. The Clayton County Public Schools Social Work Department will support the "Third Annual Eye Run 10K Run~5K Run/Walk." The event will benefit OneSight, a Luxottica Foundation that is committed to providing clear vision to millions, and provides monetary donations for research that will prevent optical diseases. The National Archives at Atlanta will present a "Civil War Symposium," on Saturday, April 16, at 9 a.m., at the National Archives at Atlanta, 5780 Jonesboro Road, Morrow. Clayton County Water Authority's Shoal Creek Reservoir will be open on Saturday, April 16, May 7, May 21, June 4 and June 18, from 7 a.m., to 3 p.m. Shoal Creek Reservoir is located off of Hampton Road and Ellison Road, in Jonesboro. The reservoir is only open for Clayton County residents with season passes and is only open for boat fishing. Call (770) 603-5605.

The Clayton County Library System will not charge any overdue fines, if overdue items are returned Monday, April 18, to any of Clayton County's six library locations during their normal operating hours. The Clayton County Water Authority's fishing reservoirs will be open for the fishing season. The Shamrock/Blalock Reservoirs, located at 2610 Shamrock Road, Jonesboro, is open Wednesdays, through Sundays, until Oct. 30, from 7 a.m., to 8 p.m. The J.W. Smith Reservoir, located at 143 Northbridge Road, Hampton, will be opened Saturdays, through Wednesdays, until Oct. 31, during the same operation hours.
