Clayton State places three on 2011 All-Peach Belt Conference team for women's tennis

The Peach Belt Conference announced its 2011 Women's Tennis All-Conference team on Saturday, and the Clayton State Lakers had three representatives on this season's team.

Selected All-Peach Belt Conference for Clayton State was Viktoriya Semyrodenko, Katie White and Ivana Krommelova. Semyrodenko was a first team for singles, while White was a second team selection. In doubles, Semyrodenko and Krommelova were second team selections.

This is the second All-Peach Belt honor for Semyrodenko and White in singles, and also the second All-Peach Belt honor for Semyrodenko in doubles. This is the first All-Conference honor for Krommelova.

One of the team's two seniors, Semyrodenko has played the majority of the season at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles for head coach Le'Trone Mason's No. 12-ranked Lakers. The native of Donetsk, Ukraine, is currently 12-6 overall in singles, including 10-2 in singles within the Peach Belt Conference.

Semyrodenko is currently ranked 19th in the nation in singles at the Division II level.

The other senior, White has played a majority of the season at No. 2 in both singles and doubles after playing No. 1 in both positions last season. The Wolverhampton, England, native is 11-6 in singles this season, including 6-4 in the Peach Belt Conference. White is currently ranked No. 24 in the nation in singles in Division II.

Krommelova, a sophomore from Nove Zamky, Slovakia, has teamed with Semyrodenko at No. 1 doubles most of the season. Together, the duo is 13-4 overall, including 10-2 in the Peach Belt Conference. Krommelova and Semyrodenko are ranked 10th in the nation in Division II in doubles.

Clayton State (14-6) squares off today at 1 p.m. against top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament semifinals at the Newman Tennis Center in Augusta.
