Tech among schools making pitch for Hunt

North Clayton junior Marcus Hunt is quickly becoming one of the highest recruited players in the state.

The 6-foot-5 guard/forward has garnered interest from several school. Count new Georgia Tech Brian Gregory as one that is hoping to land the Clayton News Daily Player of the Year.

Hunt said Gregory offered him a scholarship shortly after watching him workout Monday morning.

'"I appreciate the offer," said Hunt, who averaged 26.6 points and 15 rebounds in leading the Eagles to the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs. "I feel good about the offers I have now."

He also has offers from Alabama, Florida State, Miami, South Carolina and VCU. Hunt is scheduled to meet with Georgia coaches today, the last of the three-day contact period.

"I'm probably going to trim my list this summer," he said. "I might singn in November if I'm feeling the right school. I see where my hard work is paying off."
