Daniel Lee Williams Daniel Lee Williams, 88, of Riverdale, passed away on April 20, 2011. Mr. Williams was born in Woolsey, Ga. He served his country as a decorated Army Veteran of World War II, serving in five European campaigns, including the Normandy invasion. He is retired from Ft. Gillem and AAFES. He also served his community as a City Councilman for the City of Riverdale, Master of Riverdale Masonic Lodge, and as a Deacon of Riverdale First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Margie Mae “Trixie” Williams, who passed away on Feb. 8, 2011, and by his son, Douglas Williams. He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Henry and her husband Toney, of Fayetteville; daughter-in-law, Beth Williams, of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Ike Williams, and Danielle Lee and Davis Henry; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, in Fayetteville, with Dr. Jeff Lowe officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 p.m., to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
