Cygnet magazine will host a "Launch Party" on Thursday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m., in room B10 of the Lecture Hall at Clayton State University, 2000 Clayton State Blvd., Morrow. The launch party celebrates the 2011 edition of Cygnet magazine, the university's literary magazine that highlights the literary and artistic work of the student body, annually. Clayton County residents will get a chance to discard old batteries, old paint, cleaners, medications and other items, free of charge. The Clayton County Water Authority's fishing reservoirs will be open for the fishing season. The Shamrock/Blalock Reservoirs, located at 2610 Shamrock Road, Jonesboro, is open Wednesdays, through Sundays, until Oct. 30, from 7 a.m., to 8 p.m. The J.W. Smith Reservoir, located at 143 Northbridge Road, Hampton, will be opened Saturdays, through Wednesdays, until Oct. 31, during the same operation hours.
