The National Archives at Atlanta, located at 5780 Jonesboro Road, Morrow, is holding its 12th annual Clayton County National Day of Prayer breakfast program Thursday, May 5, from 6:30 a.m., to 8:30 a.m. The guest speaker is Georgia Supreme Court Justice Harold D. Melton. Music will be provided by Sister Sherry McCrary. The program is sponsored by the Clayton County Ministers Conference. Tickets are $15.

Christians for Change Baptist Church will sponsor the 11th Annual 5K Unity Run/Walk, Saturday, May 14, beginning with warm-ups at 7:30 a.m., at the Riverdale Town Center, 7200 Church St., Riverdale, The event, led by the Young Adults Ministry, starts at 8 a.m. This year's theme is "Run for a life, give a gift of life, donate to the Red Cross." Registration is $10, and includes a T-shirt for those who pre-register by calling (770) 991-7080.

First Baptist Church, at 6805 Church St., in Riverdale, will observe the National Day of Prayer Thursday, May 5, at 11 a.m., in the sanctuary.

First Baptist Church Jonesboro will observe the National Day of Prayer in the west wing of its recreation outreach center at 148 Church St., Thursday, May 5, from noon to 1 p.m. Advance tickets must be bought for a Chik-fil-A boxed lunch that includes a sandwich, chips and brownie. Lunch will be served starting at 11 a.m., in the east wing. Tickets will be sold in the church office through May 3.

Restoration of Life Through Jesus Christ Ministries, located at 7341 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro, will be hosting a Family and Friends Day, Saturday, May 14, from noon, until 3 p.m., for the community of Clayton County. The focus is on safety. The Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services Department, the Clayton County Police Department, Indent-A-kid and more are participating in this event. There will be storybook reading and children may sign up for library cards.

Jodeco Road United Methodist Church, 1500 Jodeco Road, in Stockbridge, will hold a mission festival Saturday and Sunday, May 14, and May 15. On May 14, there will be a kick-off breakfast at 8 a.m. Creative Ministries will be held at 9 a.m., followed at 12 p.m., with lunch from Taylor's Barbecue. Then, the worship service will begin. Creative Ministries will be held May 15, at 1:15 p.m. Also, May 15, is Mission Sunday with an 8:45 a.m., service followed by a 10 a.m., mission fair, and an 11 a.m., service. Pillowcase dresses will be distributed in Africa by our Missionary family. Help feed the homeless, with Jodeco on the Road. Join the construction team and Habitat for Humanity to build a porch swing. Higher Calling Ministries, at the southwest corner of Tara Boulevard and Flint River Road, at Flint River Village, presents drive-through prayer, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m., to 8:30 a.m.

Church of the Harvest International offers Celebrate Recovery every Friday at 7 p.m. This group will help people work through any hurt, habit or hang-up in their lives. The church is located at 7086 Tara Blvd., in Jonesboro. Call Mary Lou Kehoe at (404) 513-1219.

The Laymen Ministry of Christians for Change Baptist Church, located at 2110 Bethsaida Road in Riverdale, is announcing the arrival of Cub, and Boy Scout, troops at CFC. The Cub Scout program is for boys in first-grade through fifth-grade, and the Boy Scout program is for boys between the ages of 11 and 17.
