A roundtable of representatives from across metropolitan Atlanta is hitting the information superhighway to find out what voters in the area want to see on the ballot next year, as part of a regional transportation special sales tax vote.
The Atlanta Regional Roundtable is tasked with taking transportation wish lists from communities in 10 metro-area counties, including Clayton and Henry counties, and creating a single regional Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) project list. The SPLOST is designed to fund transportation projects.
Clayton County leaders have compiled a $1.1 billion wish list, while Henry County has a $430 million wish list.
The roundtable has created an online survey, which it is encouraging the public to participate in, at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6BH86N5/.
"Your input is critical to help guide local leaders on the Atlanta Regional Roundtable in developing the best list of projects possible," the roundtable wrote on the survey web site.
"Please take a moment to answer this five-minute survey and share your thoughts on the region's transportation future."
Voters in the affected communities will be asked to approve, or reject, the SPLOST list next summer, according to information on the survey web site
