Mr. William Robert Adams, Sr., 88, of McDonough, passed away August 10, 2011. Bill was born in Mobile, Ala., to the late William and Annie Adams, Sr. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He had worked for the Atlanta Army Depot and Ft. McPherson, and enjoyed boating in his younger days. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Barbara Adams, of McDonough; daughter, Sandra (Scott) Cochran, of McDonough; grandchildren, Jake, Dustin and Carly Cochran. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 12, at 10 a.m., from Sherwood Memorial Park, in Jonesboro. The Rev. Al O’Quinn will officiate. Contributions are asked to be made to Vitas Hospice, or to the Humane Society of one’s choice, in memory of Bill.
