Police look for ‘bold’ armed robbers

Riverdale police are looking for a bold and dangerous armed crew believed to have robbed a shoe store in July and returned a month later to hit the clothing shop next door.

Chief Samuel Patterson said police are seeking at least two men in the Monday robbery of the DTLR Urban Fashion Retailer on Ga. 85. Patterson said the pair also robbed Shoe Time July 14.

"I would consider them to be relatively bold because they committed the robbery in broad daylight with no masks or cover of darkness," he said. "And they are pretty dangerous, they had weapons. I am satisfied they are a serious threat to the community."

Monday's robbery was captured on store surveillance cameras. Patterson said the men are approximately age 19, to 25, wearing white T-shirts and blue jeans.

"The descriptions are pretty generic, pretty vague," he said. "The only thing we know for sure is there are young, African-American males."

Even so, a $2,000 reward is drawing out potential witnesses.

"Hopefully, we'll get some information that will lead to an arrest," said Patterson. "We're doing everything we can to identify and apprehend these individuals and take them out of civilized society until they come before the judicial bar."
