Morrow police have made a second arrest in an armed robbery that occurred on Sept. 10, at a Shell station.
Police Sgt. Larry Oglesby said Melvin Tyrell Pierce, 25, was arrested Monday afternoon at a relative's home in Macon. Pierce is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and weapons possession. Oglesby said he expects the relative to also face charges, for allegedly hiding Pierce. Pierce and a second man, Jaquan Thomas, 25, of Stone Mountain, allegedly robbed the Shell station on Sept. 10, he said. The two men entered the store, forced the clerk to the floor at gunpoint, kicked the man, and stole cash and lottery tickets, said Oglesby. They taped up the man and ran out the front door, he said. Thomas was arrested Nov. 4, and remains in the Clayton County Jail. "The two men were identified by their girlfriends," said Oglesby. "The arrests are the result of good, solid, steady investigative work." Kathy JefcoatsMore like this story
