A 17-year-old is being sought by Henry County police for allegedly robbing and assaulting, two men while they were at work at a Stockbridge apartment.
Police said the alleged assault took place in the Jackson Drive area of Stockbridge. Sgt. Mike Ireland said police are looking for Dwayne A. Robinson, Jr., of Stockbridge, and they have labeled him “armed and dangerous.” They urge anyone who sees him to approach him with caution.
Ireland said an arrest warrant has been obtained for Robinson, and he is being charged with armed robbery, and aggravated assault.
Police said the charges stem for an incident which took place on Dec. 2, at a dwelling in Stockbridge. “Two victims were robbed at gunpoint and struck ... in the head with a hammer,” according to a police report on the incident.
“Dwayne Robinson was cut by one of the victims during the incident. He [allegedly went] to Southern Regional Hospital for treatment,” said Ireland. “A search warrant was obtained for his residence, and numerous items of clothing that he was possibly wearing during the incident, were recovered along with a yellow-handled hammer,” continued Ireland.
As a result of the police investigation into the incident, an arrest warrant was issued for Robinson, charging him with armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault. “He is also suspected in a similar armed robbery that occurred on 12-1-11 in the same area, with the same modus operandi,” said Ireland.
Anyone with information about Robinson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Henry County Police Department’s Detective E. Combs, at (770) 288-8200.
