A Clarkston man has been charged in a July automobile crash that killed one of his passengers and seriously injured three others.
Brandon Huen Parker, 19, is being held on $79,000 bond in the Clayton County Jail, on charges of homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions, speeding, driving without insurance and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Police said Parker was allegedly speeding along Gilbert Road in Forest Park on July 8, left the roadway and hit a tree. Passenger Charmayne McCier, 19, died about two hours later.
Brittney Brown suffered serious brain trauma that rendered her body useless, according to an arrest warrant in the case. Doctors told police that if Brown survives, her quality of life will be diminished.
Terrence Douglas suffered injuries to his left arm, which required surgery and insertion of pins. Julius Manninger, Jr., had to have a metal plate implanted in his right ankle, said police, and his jaw had to be wired. Passenger Patrick Collier walked away from the crash unscathed, police said.
According to court records, Parker violated probation, which he has been serving related to simple battery, obstruction of a 911 call and criminal trespass.
