The Clayton County Library System’s Lovejoy Branch will host a “Preschool Story Time” Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 10:30 a.m., to 11:15 a.m., for youths ages 3 to 6. Activities will include stories, songs, finger-plays, movement, crafts, and movies. The event will be located at, 1721 McDonough Road, Hampton. The Clayton County Public Library Headquarters Branch will host a “Yu-Gi-Oh” event Wednesday Dec. 28, from 2 p.m., to 4 p.m., for ages 8 to adult. This is in recognition of National Card Playing Day. Players must bring their own playing cards to participate. The library is located at 865 Battle Creek Road in Jonesboro. Call (770) 473-3850.

Saturday Dec. 3

The Clayton County Public Library Headquarters Branch will host a “Happy New Year Movie” Saturday, Dec. 31, beginning at 2 p.m. Charlie Brown is obligated to attend Peppermint Patty’s New Year’s Eve party, even though he has to finish the novel, “War and Peace.” The library is located at, 865 Battle Creek Road in Jonesboro. Clayton State University Health Services (UHS) is offering flu shots for the Clayton State, and surrounding, communities. No appointment is necessary for the shots, which can be administered to individuals, age 3 and older. Costs are: Clayton State students, faculty, staff, and family members –– $15. For the general public –– $20. The Vaccine Information Sheet and the 2011 Flu Shot Consent form are available on the UHS web site: http://nursing.clayton.edu/uhs/.

The Clayton County Public Library System offers many services to students, including online practice tests and tutorials in math, reading and writing, as well as test-preparation materials for the SAT, ASVAB, GED, TOEFFL, and Occupational Aptitude Tests.
