Clayton State University's School of Nursing will offer information sessions, to help people prepare for a career in nursing later this month, the Morrow-based school announced earlier this week.
The university will hold two Into Nursing Pre-Nursing Information Sessions on Feb. 22, and Feb. 23. In a written statement, university spokesman John Shiffert said the Feb. 22 session will take place from 11:30 a.m., to 12:30 p.m., in room B-11 of the university's Lecture Hall. He added the Feb. 23 session will last from 5 p.m., to 6 p.m., in room UC272 of the James M. Baker University Center.
Shiffert explained the sessions are open to pre-nursing students at the university, as well as high school students, parents and Clayton State faculty and staff. The sessions will be led representatives of the school's Nursing Workforce Diversity grant team, according to the university's spokesman.
"The purpose of the Into Nursing information sessions is to provide pre-nursing students with important information about resources that are available to help them plan for a career in nursing," Shiffert said. "Strategies will be discussed regarding how to successfully prepare yourself for the application process, and how to be successful once you are admitted to a nursing program.
