"A Valentine Murder Mystery Dinner," a "Massage for Couples," and "Romantic Cupcakes and Cookies" are all part of a unique experience Clayton State University (CSU) is offering the public, in celebration of Valentine's Day.
According to a news release issued Clayton State University Spokesman John Shiffert, CSU's Center for Continuing Education will hold three special events for the Valentine's Day weekend.
All three programs will be held in the Harry S. Downs Center on the main campus of CSU, Shiffert said. CSU is located at 2000 Clayton State Boulevard, in Morrow.
The weekend will begin on Friday, Feb. 11, with a Valentine Murder Mystery Dinner, from 6:30, until 9 p.m. "It's an evening that begins with a murder [well, not really, but you get the idea], only to climax with clues and a dinner buffet," said Shiffert.
The cost for the dinner is $39 per person, he said.
According to Shiffert, the events will continue on Sunday, Feb. 13 with massages and desserts.
"You can choose between Massage for Couples [which takes place from 1:30 p.m., to 4:30 p.m.] and Romantic Cupcakes and Cookies [from 2 p.m., to 5 p.m.]," he added.
The Massage for Couples offering will teach participants how to give a full-body massages using basic essentials of Swedish massages, which partners can practice on each other, said Shiffert.
"However, as you might guess, registration is for couples only," he said.
The cost for the massage –– per couple –– is $49.
"For those who don't make it for the massage class, there are still cupcakes and cookies," Shiffert explained. "Here's a chance to learn how to embellish cupcakes and cookies with trendy damask, paisley and toile designs in butter cream, royal and fondant.
"You'll also learn how to package your creations professionally with wraps, ties and stickers," he added.
The cost for this class is $35 per person.
Interested parties can register until all the slots are filled, school officials said. According to the Center for Continuing Education's web site, only two spots were open for the Massage for Couples class, on Friday evening.
