Lovejoy senior Keyashu Palmer scored 25 points to lead the Lady Wildcats to a 70-66 come-from-behind win at North Clayton Friday in a Region 4-AAAA game.
The visiting Lady Wildcats trailed 33-24 at halftime, but outscored North Clayton in the third to tie it at 49-49 going into the final period.
In the fourth, Lovejoy outscored the Lady Eagles 21-15 to take control of the game. The teams split their regular season series.
Lovejoy snapped a two-game losing streak to close the season at 12-13 overall and 11-7 in the region while the Eagles are 15-4 and 13-4.
Yamaya Crawford scored 15 points and Kaelah Tarrant had 14 to help lead Lovejoy. The Lady Eagles were led by Destiny Tejada, who had a game-high 27 points while Miranda Cantrell had 15 points and Ariele Thomas added 12.
North Clayton closes its regular season Saturday with a home game against Riverdale before next week's region tournament.
Forest Park girls 62, Mount Zion 19: The fifth-ranked Lady Panthers celebrated Senior Night and Cancer Awareness Night in a big way as they closed out the regular season undefeated in their Region 4-AAAA schedule. Senior Nikki Wilson led two other Forest Park players in double figures with 11 points to go with her eight rebounds.
Senior Keyonna Allen and junior Ashlee Cole scored 10 points each for the Lady Panthers, who ended the regular season winning their last 12 games for a 20-5 overall record and 18-0 in the region.
All of Forest Park's losses came to out-of-state teams this season.
Drew girls 49, Stockbridge 37: The Lady Titans dominated in the second half to spoil Senior Night at Stockbridge with a 49-37 victory in both teams' regular-season finale.
Drew (12-8, 9-7 Region 4-AAA) overcame a 26-20 deficit at halftime with a strong third quarter, led by Precious Persons, who had six of the Lady Titans' 14 points in the quarter. Persons finished with 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and four blocks.
Kiki Henderson added 15 points for Drew, while Shaleya Winfrey came off the bench to score seven points and grab 11 rebounds.
Amari Moreland led Stockbridge (10-14, 9-7) with 14 points, but was held to just one point in the second half. Miracle Johnson added eight points and 11 rebounds.
Newton girls 67, Luella 57: Britney Guy's 33 points wasn't enough as the Lady Lions fell 67-57 to Newton in a Region 2-AAAAA game Friday.
Guy was the only Luella player to score in double-figures. Laghanae Davis was the next highest scorer with seven points.
