* Local recruits headed off to college

No t ONE Eagles Landing player going on to play in college. Thats sad, hopefully ONE day we can be competitive enough that a college will notice our kids!

* Local recruits headed off to college

What about Henry County High School? There were a lot of talented kids on that team this year.

* Incoming warden finds rewards in corrections work

i agree teresa its a shame that someone else gets to choose when you gonna die its just not fair if i were warden humprey i wouldnt do that part of the job ever again. he is not thinking about the condems family and how they feel seems like he thinking more on the the victims family sure i know he did wrong but like you said its not gonna make it right. she is not coming back to this life so what was the point? I mean i know that the victims family wanted closure but still what was the point in taking another life i think the state should stop this capital punishment stuff cos its not right

* Incoming warden finds rewards in corrections work

first congradulations on your new job, but what a way to start it with the execution a man who did wrong, two wrongs dont make it right? what gave you the right to decide someone elses fate? even though he did wrong?i do understand the dept of corrections view and the judge who sentenced him.I even understand the family and the fiancee but condeming him is not gonna bring her back. what was so wrong about giving him life? ive thought about this a week (after his death)and the more i think about it i think it was wrong, and the job you have i commend you on it but that part i really think it was file for you to be the one to do your part and the nurse who did the adminstering it was WRONG!

* Mayo, Sr., Bobby Gene

I Love You & I Miss You, Mine & Karen's B-Day Was Last Sunday & I Was Sad Not To Get Your Phone Call Saying Happy B-Day Baby!! R.I.P. Daddy Your Loved & Missed !!!

* Senior Night Sweep: Union Grove gets pair of wins

This article is incomplete, the stats are wrong and players are omitted from the article as well. Charles Mann had more than 11 points and Jordan Nelson (Union Grove) who finished with 16 points was omitted from the the whole article. There were 3 dunks by Union Grove in this game Mann (2) Nelson (1), it would have been nice to mention them. Bad coverage, just bad.

* Ga. 42 project adding passing lanes

Great work, JPA. I mean, it's only been going on for half a year now.

* Bulldogs take down Tigers 74-68

Once again, the player information is incorrect. Mundy's Mill # 34 Sophomore Darrius Sizemore scored 23 points not Abere Azbuke. Abere Azbuke did not and does not play on the Varsity Basketball Team. This information is very important and should be reported correctly.

* Robbery suspect's bond rescinded by judge

I wonder why Henry Co police did not follow up on the tips of who this robber was?

* Williams, Mable Purser

We are praying for all of you and are very sorry for your lost. We will truly miss her.

* Robbery suspect's bond rescinded by judge

i've been reading your stories on my son, and just for youe information and the public. my son has used drugs for a very long time, and has been in several rehabs, he needs help. he is loved very much by his family. even though he did what was very wrong. my son has a good family. and like i said, we all love him very much. and pray that one day he will be free from this drug life style that has made his life a living hell. the family is going through alot at this time, and we are praying for our son each and everyday. He is a good person, anyone that knows him.

* Company to close Southlake Mall store

Man that suck JcPenny is closing in South Lake Mall when is it going to close???????? Yea let hope is not like a Shannon Mall

* Commissioner Holmes starts youth athletic association

I have a QUESTION? Why does a Henry County Commissioner think that he needs an athletic association in his name. I thought that Henry County already had a Parks and Recreation that offered these types of sporting activities. I'm sure that the good citizens of Henry County will be paying the bill for a Commissioner to have a building named after him for activities that are already provided..

* Chappell, John W.

Mr.Chappell became a friend of mine while we had his land listed.He allowed me to hunt a few times on his property.Mr.Chappell was very diligent in caring for his wife and his philanthropic pursuits as feeding the needy.Mr.Cappell was a nice man and will be missed by many.-Thanks-Alan Bass

* Maddox, Robert A. "Bob"

One of the few class acts of Clayton County

* Doty, Paul

I was very sorry to hear of Paul's passing. My condolances to his family. Paul was a member of my graduating class and a good friend of mine in high school. I have kept in touch with him from time to time via telephone and was planning to call him in the near future. The last time I saw him was at a high school reunion. His wife Judy was there and played the piano while many of us stood around and sang. I will miss his being there where I can call him and chat and enjoy his great sense of humor.

* Company to close Southlake Mall store

...and people want a mall in Henry County. What a joke that is and what a joke they are.

* Company to close Southlake Mall store

Southlake Mall has become a thugish area. It will probably go like Shannon Mall did. Everyone knows why the area is not profitable anymore but no one wants to come out and say it. People keep moving farther away and hoping the situation never catches up with them. Why are people so afraid to say why business goes down when the neighborhood goes down !!

* Man charged in illegal prescription-pill case

works in office not a truckdriver!

* Marijuana-trafficking investigation yields 4 arrests

well mcdonoughgrl, how do you know they all didn't run, I know for a fact they all did run.

* Doty, Paul

My deepest sympathy for the loss of Paul. I was a former classmate of Paul's from KCS.

* Revis, Kimberly A.

It is with great sadness that heard of this passing. My thoughts are with you.

* Doty, Paul

My condolences to Paul's family. He was a classmate of mine, and a friend to my brother in Ga.(Charlie Burns). Whenever I visited Charlie, he would call Paul and Judy to come over for a visit. It has been six years since Charlie died, and the last time I saw Paul (who was a pallbearer). Paul was a true gentleman, and I am so sorry that we will never visit again. Veronica Burns Murphy

* Magistrate Court Report

How about a FELONY MURDER indictment for Meason? Voluntary Manslaughter sends the message that folks can get in a fight and kill each other arbitrarily!

* Revis, Kimberly A.

Donna, I just want to say how much I love you and feel some of your pain. You do so much for others, but I hope you are taking care of you! Love you, Doris

* Revis, Kimberly A.

Each of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Both Gwen and Kim have given us many warm and loving memories. I hope these memories ease your sadness and bring you comfort. I take comfort in knowing that they're together once again. Love to all.

* Ga. 42 project adding passing lanes

I travel this road several times a day and i haven't noticed any problems with traffic in this area of 42 until all the construction. It's another miss use of taxpayer money! why not use the money on other areas of county or state that have been heavly hit with budget cuts and lay offs. Why do we keep electing people that are no smarter then this.

* Commissioner Holmes starts youth athletic association

It's my understanding that the athletic program offered in Commissioner Holmes' name is in conjunction with the Henry County Parks and Recreation Department and is to be set in the new Fairview Recreation Center.

* Delegates visit Henry's emergency operations center

Your artical said... "In the winter storm, for instance, it was critical to have the right people in place," he said, pointing out that the Henry County Department of Transportation was on hand with emergency workers surveying conditions and responding to potential hazards. Are you serious ? What does on hand mean ? I know this storm was unusual but Henry County DOT were nowhere to be found for 2 days in terms of the roads

* Dutchtown's Kay inks with Troy

Congratulations Ryan! I've watched you since the 7th grade and you have provided Bulldog fans with some great moments. Troy's got a good one and all Bulldog fans look forward to watching you on Saturdays.

* Raburn, Karen Bruce

Karen was our daughter Tiffany's roommate on a Mission trip to Russia. Karen and George both had a servants heart and were precious people. Now, both of them and our daughter Tiffany are able to worship Jesus face to face. Grief is the hardest emotion we humans have to deal with. Just imagine when all who know Him have to opportunity to see Him face to face as our loved ones do today. Love to the family, Jerry and Gayle and Victoria Beddingfield

* Henry lawman's rapid response saves life

Officer Ferebee responded to an accident that I was in several years ago. He was so nice and down to earth. I'm glad that he got some recognition for his good deeds and hard work. The world could use more officers like him.

* Ga. 42 project adding passing lanes

I feel that this passing lane is a big waste of taxpayers money. there has never been a problem with traffic throughout that area except a small amount of people turning onto Old Bethel Rd. from Hwy 42 while a train is passing along the railroad tracks. And even then is only for a matter of minutes and the traffic on Hwy 42 never really slows that much.
