Seven high school wrestlers from the Southern Crescent reached the pinnacle moment of their sport Saturday at the GHSA Traditional Wrestling Tournament.
From six different weight classes, two classifications and two counties, they conquered every foe put in their path and were enveloped in the same ceremony of jubilation -- a euphoric embrace with coaches and family, a raised arm in victory and a handshake with their opponent, the ultimate gesture of sportsmanship.
Before thousands of fans, on the sport's biggest stage, they put their names into the record books as champions.
